i'm dead to her

that is to my mother when she is at work and isn't supposed to take personal calls. usually she can sneak in a little chat, but this is what transpired today:

mother: department of medicine
me: hi
mother: this is internal medicine.
me: mom, it's me!
mother: THIS IS INTERNAL MEDICINE. YOU MUST HAVE THE WRONG NUMBER.
me: moooommmmmmm! it's your long lost daughter, hazeldove. (cue tears)

okay, i made up the last part, but i wanted to add a little drama!
