tuk you!

so last night, darkpony and i were starving to death and desperate for something to eat in our neighborhood. our choices are quite limited, though our neighborhood is supposed to be soooo up-and-coming. mostly there are a bunch of subpar restaurants such as the one we settled upon, tuk tuk, a thai restaurant. we had eaten there before and had been disappointed both times, but our laziness made us say, once again, "maybe it's gotten better?" and i really wanted a thai iced tea.

i call for delivery and twenty minutes later the buzzer sounds, so i press the button to open the door. no one comes up the stairs, so i send darkpony down to investigate. on the way out, he runs into our neighbor who told him that the food delivery person buzzed his door, too. darkpony is gone for a bit, and then, i receive a call from tuk tuk. the woman on the phone says that we told andre, the delivery guy, that we didn't want our food, and he is very mad. i try to explain that andre buzzed the wrong buzzer. darkpony arrives back to the apartment without any food, and i have to send him back downstairs (four flights) to find andre.


when darkpony does return with the food, he tells me that andre, who is like sixteen, pretty much told him that he was never going to deliver to us ever again because we told him that we didn't want our food.


darkpony doesn't get worked up about a lot of stuff, but he is really worked up at this point. he calls tuk tuk and yells at the woman who keeps defending andre and is not believing that andre may have buzzed the wrong buzzer. here's my favorite line from darkpony, "ummm, it doesn't take sherlock holmes to figure out that the wrong buzzer was buzzed." that's a classic line that darkpony senior would use! anyway, the woman at tuk tuk is a total idiot who should just agree that andre buzzed the wrong buzzer, but she can't seem to make up her mind about the situation. isn't the customer always right?


all in all, we have decided that she must be andre's mother, and andre is her little angel who can do no wrong. I swear that i am never, ever eating at tuk tuk ever again, and neither should you. they also have a restaurant in brooklyn. boycott them! their food sucks, and they're total f'ing idiots!
