seriously...
what's up with ramen noodle shops in new york? i walked past two of them on 1st avenue last night, and they were both packed with a bunch of people waiting outside. hello, you can get like ramen for 30 cents at the grocery store. just kidding. was there a write-up in time out new york recently. what the hecks? hey someone in chicago, open up one of these shops pronto because it's hot hot hot!
speaking of asian food (smooth transition, eh?), i am for real addicted to kimchi. love it. plus, it's a super food with lots of vitamins and something to do with fermenting that's good for you. the other day, i was in koreatown and discovered this really good restaurant, woo ri jip, on 32nd street. they have prepared food, hot food, and a noodle shop in the back with...ramen! i am loving the grilled tofu with vegetables for $4.50 with a small container of kimchi for $2.50. you can't beat those prices. no you can't. that's right.

I don't know, little Hazeldove...
for noodles in Chicago, you can't beat the pho on Argyle St. But I am biased towards the Vietnamese when it comes to noodles. I mean, come on! cloves & oxtail? Mmmmm. Now I'm hungry...
dear anonymous, i wasn't putting chicago down for having no decent noodle shops, i was just saying get on this ramen bandwagon while it's hot. it's insanity!
p.s. i'm a big fan of pho myself and will have to check out argyle st. next time i'm in the windy city!
Oh no, I totally gotcha.
I'm just having a hard time imagining anything but the sodium bomb that is Maruchan Ramen. I'm sure it's delicious when it's made by an actual chef instead of MY MICROWAVE.
And yeah, you should get that silly brother of yours to take you over to Tank Noodle in Little Vietnam next time you're in town.
